guide values in CS6
Suddenly I am unable to input other than a whole number for a guide, whereas normally you can put in two or three places of decimals. Also, when I try to enter values for a new document, I am unable to enter decimal places as well. For example, values for A4, 29.7 cm, will only take 29. Message about numeric values appears. Help!!!

Re: guide values in CS6
Very strange. Do you perhaps have the values set to, say, pixels rather than cm? Can you post a screenshot?

Re: guide values in CS6
Had a suggestion to try a comma instead of a full stop e.g. 14,85 cm and lo and behold it works. Absolutely no idea why...............

Are you perhaps using a German version of Photoshop?

Re: guide values in CS6
Or other languages? I type with a French keyboard and it uses the comma where Brits or USA use the full stop as a decimal separator and vice versa the full stop as a thousands separator.

I think this applies to all languages that use an AZERTY keyboard as opposed the the Brit USA QUERTY keyboard.

I don't know about Windows but on a Mac you can go into System Preferences>Language and Region>Advanced>General and change the way the numeric separators are used.

Had a similar problem on my PC recently when, for no apparent reason, my keyboard suddenly switched to the USA version. It took a while to figure out why I was getting all these odd characters.

Except that I figured out how to fix my keyboard without insulting it

Re: guide values in CS6
My thanks for solutions. My keyboard had indeed gone into French mode, but don't ask me to explain how.
