Introducing… How to Cheat in Photoshop CC
It will come as no surprise that I've been working on a new edition of HotChiPs - and I'm pleased to announce that the eighth edition of the book will be available this week. How to Cheat in Photoshop CC includes 100 pages of new and revised material, including an expanded Camera Raw section that covers applying the filter to JPEG images, as well as tutorials on new CC features such as Shake Reduction, 3D layer instances, and the new round-cornered rectangle controls. A few Friday Challenges have made their way into the book, and I've shown how to do such tricky tasks as rotating the whisky bottle and adding glasses to the woman - so you may well find your work featured in the book. It's all on the webThis is the first edition of the book not to feature a CD or DVD. In many ways, this is a big step forward, since it means we'll no longer be plagued with problems of missing files, scratched disks or errors in movie encoding: any mistakes can be corrected immediately. All the movies (and I've recorded several more for this edition) are now available to view directly on the website, and the tutorial Photoshop files are there for download. I hope everyone finds this a useful approach. I haven't copy protected any of the movies or downloads, so feel free to browse even if you don't have the new edition. CaveatAs always, I have to remind potential buyers that this is not a wholly new book. This is an update to the HotChiPs series, and if you own an earlier edition you'll find much of the information is the same. Good luck, I imagine this one was difficult to write, and the next one even more so, as update will keep coming, but not a new version as in the 'old days' One of my favourite new features is to be able to go to Camera Raw from Photoshop. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Joey, I'd suggest looking at 3D Photoshop instead, at least for the time being. The 3D tools in CS6 are excellent, and I really think you'd enjoy playing with them. |

Was about to purchase the kindle version of this book from amazon.com. and I was stopped dead in my tracks on a review on the CS 6 version of this book. The review said in the kindle version, the program that compiled the manuscript into a e-book compiled it wrong. For example step 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 came out as Step 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 2, 4, 6, 8. As anyone here that bought the Kindle CC version of the e-book has this kind of problem?

Hello Michael Though I dont have the Kindle version , but I do have the e-versions of a couple of the "How to ..." . However , I too was a bit "dismayed" at first thinking every other page were "missing or omitted , but the fact was that (in my case) Acrobat was showing or was layed out as two page per pane panel , hence when opening "Pg 1" Pg 2 was there too , but upon clicking "go to pg" , Acrobat could not "find" Pg 2 because it was in the same page as 1 .... Weird , but its there . Again , I am only relating to my own experience with this issue , and I do not any other technical issue or resolution with this issue , or if there is an issue at all other than the 2 page layout . Ihope this will be of help , I am sure others will come (I Know Steve will) and help you more . vahn |

Hi Michael I have just purchased the Kindle version and quickly run through chapter 1 selection. All seems to be fine. I'm not using a kindle but the app on a Samsung tablet. only comment the key press images IE Command / CRTL are a little small. |

The Kindle version of the book is appalling. I don't recommend anyone buys it until the publishers get this sorted out. My apologies, but there's nothing I can do about it except continue to nag them. |

Been working my way steadily through the HTCIPS CC book on Kindle Fire HD, so far so good. I then read all of Pocket Photoshop Smart Objects on ibooks and decided I would like to have a go at animation gifs. So Chapter 15 movies on the HTCIPS CC website would be a good place to start, on the guy eating the apple. However this movie does not load when clicked. Steve, is this because of your policy of copyright images used? Great books and reference, by the way. Denis |
