Contest 176: Hiding in plain sight
My house was burgled on Sunday - nothing too serious, just lost some easily replaceable technology. But it left me thinking of the old maxim that the best way to hide something is to leave it in plain sight.

So here are four items burglars would be after - a laptop, a digital camera, a brooch and a passport. Your task: devise a scene which includes all these items, but in such a way that they're concealed within the scene while still being fully visible.

Extra points if I can't spot all the items in your entries!

High res is here.

I hope you're not too shaken up by it Steve. Its very traumatic though.

I was broken into a few months ago, while I was upstairs. I was totally oblivious to the knife carrying drug addict that was freely roaming my house, helping himself to what ever he liked.

On his way out, he just happened to "bump" into a group of policemen, who were in the street looking for him.

The rest is history..lol..he will be spending a couple of summers (and winters) in a lovely place called Silverwater LOL

Steve,
Sorry to hear about your burglary.

It's odd that the Challenge this week should be 'Hiding in Plain Sight'. Just three days ago our village Post Office was raided by two guys who, when trying to escape, found that it is very difficult to hide in a very English village when you are of a somewhat darker colour. They were arrested within about three minutes when they discovered their elementary mistake about blending into the background.

Hope they get your guys too.

Steve,
Sorry you have been burgled.

An unpleasant business, something I’ve been unfortunate enough to experience. Leaves one feeling outraged, and ready to break a neck or two (not to be recommended) mustn’t harm the dear souls. Grit the teeth and fume a little.

We all like to think we are safe in our own home or place of business, and it is disturbing when someone shatters that feeling of security. Sorry you had to go through that, and I hope they catch them.

Yeah ditto to the above steve.

Touch wood i have never been so unlucky, perhaps it has something to do wih the fact that the good lord blessed me with quite a large frame and a villainly look, plus i have one hell of a guard dog
as you said material items are simple enough to replace. Atleast its the weekend and you can put your feet up and chill mate.

Sorry to hear about the burglary, Steve. I hope you and your family will recover from this quickly. Doesn't that just piss you off!!! (American phrase for being angry!) I don't know the British phrase. LOL

Shouldn't be to hard to find, but hopefully easy to overlook.

Steve,

I'm so sorry to hear or the robbery. I, too, was robbed: Apple fixed my broken computer.

Kidding side, I lived in NYC for over 20 years. I've been mugged and my apartment has been robbed twice. I was beaten up during the last apartment robbery, and need surgery because of it.

Nasty business.

Lovely Vibeke and Tom. Vibeke, Ive looked and looked but cant see your brooch/circular thingy. Tom, I found yours

Mine was taken from a wonderful book called "The Ultimate Alphabet" by Mike Wilks. Strongly recommend it, as a coffee table book. Ive spent months gazing at it.

The .gif contains the spoiler...only look if you cant find the objects

This one was a lot of fun
