Challenge 685: Deck the halls
Downing Street, the home of the British Prime Minister, does seem like rather gloomy place. Here's former PM Gordon Brown giving a tour to former President Barack Obama. Can you make this scene a little more festive for Christmas, and perhaps update the two leaders? High res is here. |

I'm sick of the current politics today, so I'm taking this back in time . . . |

Some challenges ring your bell ..... some don't. Mine is ringing rather faintly this week. So, as usual when my enthusiasms wane, silliness and a bit of a giggle. I have always thought that The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy sounded a bit sinister, like the fairy was really out to give you cavities. My living room is tiny. I have two table lamps that have two bulbs apiece. even with both bulbs in both lamps on, the room is still a little dark unless I turn on the overhead light. I figure a room as large as this one would still be fairly dark if only the two lamps and the sconce were lit. Animation: http://vimeo.com/248264853 _________________ I'm still learning. |

The first image (static) shows us The Three Friskerteers, and the second (animated) shows us "public outrage" expressing itself as the Avenger! |

Been having problems. Thought it was the computer, but it seems like it was CC2018. Everything kept freezing, have now updated it which will have fixed it, but no time for the Challenge. |

Re: Challenge 685: Deck the halls
A historical scene from lwc, featuring George V and Woodrow Wilson - I like the conversion of George V with his sash and medal. The new lamp works well, too. No lights on the tree, though? A funny image from DavidMac - was Theresa May really dressed as an elf? Great expressions and body language. A neat second entry, with Jean-Claude Juncker spraying over the paintings. Why the headphones? I like how Emy has moved the pair to the White House - complete with reflections. Very small point: remember to add the reflection of the upper part of Obama's shoe, otherwise it looks like he's sinking into the floor. A fun entry from Ben Mills, featuring Kim Jong Un and - is that Trump? - in a room filled with images of Marxist heroes. Nicely done. And I like the Christmas trees, too. A touch of satire from Josephine Harvatt, that will probably make sense only to those immersed in UK politics... I like Corbyn's message, and the blank Trump thought bubble. A homage to Tim Burton from tooquilos, with some fancy lights and an interestingly shady half of the room. I like the entrance to the Number 10 cave in the animated version, followed by the twinkly lights. The zoom-in on the snow globe is very neat - and I really like your treatment of the close-up globe. Beautiful. A rather beautifully decked-out tree from srawland, with stockings over the mantlepiece - and yes, the darkened room does make sense. A truly glorious animated version - really funny idea, and immaculately executed. Loved it. An extraordinary clean-up from Mariner, who has turned the lights off - a process which necessitated repainting the walls. Amazing work getting rid of those irksome politicians, too. And a very moving set of images, too. A disreputable bunch of philanderers from michael sinclair, with great views through the new windows. Trump's head looks a little squashed though, don't you think? I like the way you've animated Hulk in the second entry. Is that Corbyn walking off with a trigger button in Deborah Morley's entry? And wearing a shell suit? I see the bomb under the tree... nicely done, Deborah, sorry you're having trouble with CC 2018. _____________ Good work this week. Surprised none of you had Santa coming down that chimney... |

Re: Challenge 685: Deck the halls
It's what she wore on election day! Now why does a true blue ultra right conservative fight the election dressed in Labour red?
They came with the sprayer and I didn't feel their removal was justified. (Spelt L A Z Y). _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
