Challenge 700: Freeze the moment
Welcome to the 700th Friday Challenge! Don't you just wish you could make this moment last forever? Well, maybe you can.

This week's challenge is inspired by Vibeke's latest passion, of capturing drops of liquid as they fall and splash - and you can see her images here. So your Challenge this week is: freeze a moment in time. It could be anything you like - a chef flipping pancakes, a dog catching a frisbee, a bullet shattering a bottle - but the essence of the Challenge is to capture a scene in the middle of its motion, as if captured using Vibeke's technique.

No starting image this week - you're on your own.

A fine collection of water drops on your fliker site Vibeke. It reminded me of a similar faze I went through a few years ago but never did achieve results as good as yours. Not sure what Pluto Trigger and Valve are?

Thanks Gordon.

I simply wondered what one of the slowest creatures on the planet would have to do to require stop-motion photography.

Sounds out of Fireworks! I like to take photos of fireworks and “play” with it in Photoshop:
The singer is a real.
Processed Firework-photos are:
1. The wall on the left.
2. The ornament on the T-Shirt.
3. The “sounds” flowing out of the mouth.
4. The water going down on the right.

After watching both of your movies Gordon, I've had the strangest urge to watch a "Dirty Harry" movie... and I do apologize for totally ripping off your number 700 idea.

YIKES!

Feel free to rip off any of my ideas Loyd. I don't have a problem with that - I probably stole them from somebody else anyway

After I created the slow-mo bullet I wondered about what it was actually being aimed at; decided to have a tinker around with Cinema 4D and came up with this after pushing a few pixels around.

Looks good Gordon.
I was sort of drifting same way Loyd.
Great entries so far.
This contribution even deviating from what I'm trying to do, oh well, just in case stuck later, maybe 007 when you do a duck.

Re: Challenge 700: Freeze the moment
I'll bet we all know someone to whom, in our secret thoughts, we fantasise doing this ........

Surprisingly difficult. A lot more work and layers and modes than might seem apparent.

I hadn’t planned on doing a video of this one but, after rotating the scene around a few times to check if it was all ok and, as I had already done all the hard work of creating the still image, I figured that the computer could do the rendering of some 600 frames while I was out walking the dog in the mud. Hope you all think that it was worth the dog walk.

This week’s Challenge has given me a lot of learning points so a big thank you to Vibeke for the inspiration.

Yes. I agree. I think she's been something of an inspiration on many levels these last few weeks.
