Challenge 701: The Mary River Turtle
You may never have come across the Mary River turtle, and that could be for two reasons - one, that it only lives in the Mary River in Queensland, Australia; and two, because it's just been added to the list of endangered species. But it's rather splendid, don't you think? Not only does it have green hair and an implausible moustache, it's also capable of breathing through its genitals (a feat I've never managed myself). Can you give this beastie a new lease of life? I think it could do with a break. High res is here. |

That's getting close to home - I live 154 km south of the Mary River. Ben |

My very first instant reaction the moment I saw this little guy (assuming it is a guy). _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Good question. That aside, your animation is spectacularly convincing - especially the "hair", if that is what you call it. Nicely done Loyd. Was this done within Photoshop or did you use After Effects? _________________ If at first you don't succeed then skydiving is not for you. |

Thanks Gordon! It's all in the software... after a little photochop prep-work, I used the trial version of DP Animation Maker for most of the FX. Then a nearly 20 yr. old dedicated gif animator (Animation Shop) to finalize cropping, frame speed, etc. |

Thank you Steve, Just looking at this picture took me to a happy place. Iwc, your submerged turtle is remarkable. Well done! _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Re: Challenge 701: The Mary River Turtle
There were still images of a round penetrating a light bulb yesterday. Maybe Tooquilos' entry. I was looking forward to seeing it when I got home but forgot . I see you've removed them. The still images looked great. Are you going to submit them again? _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |
