Thanks for the positive comments last week, but I had a tooth extraction then and I could not reply (it still hurts even after week)

Michael, I’m really, really shocked at your image - you haven’t included a single Napoleonic horseman

Looks like Trump and offensive waste is synonymous

Re: Challenge 711: Offensive waste
There is no waste, we all get recycled. My friends brother was asked how much of Caesar's last breath we might have inhaled. He probably knew the answer I don't know, but we probably have as well as some other peoples you wish you hadn't.
I couldn't do anything horrific so this is my late attempt based off what I was picturing today on the subject, minds work in strange ways

I like all your entries

Discounting atmospheric absorption from plants and other less predictable influences, then apparently, according to Enrico Fermi, who by all reports was quite a clever Nobel winning bloke, assuming an even global distribution, about one molecule per breath.

Interesting image Jota!

To be accompanied by one of those ever increasing screechy, windy sound effects reaching almost a scream before being cut off dead by the slap of the lid closing and total silence ..........

I can't disagree with that. As physicist I should be able to work it out, but I think about other weird things. I don't like moles. Thank you.
His brother was preparing to go to Oxford University. They didn't give my friend and I so much help (were not stupid). Long story, tragic, they couldn't stimulate his intelligence enough so he died several years ago. We were 4 yrs younger than him (very young men) , but later we think we could have helped more. He went off the rails...... [

I had such ambitions for this, but I ran out of time. As it is I'm 2 hours past my bedtime.

Re: Challenge 711: Offensive waste
I suppose I was asking for it, really. But I think in future Challenges I may have to apply a No Trumps rule, just to keep things on an even keel.

DavidMac was the first to trash the president, with the words “best get him out of the way early”. As if. Nicely done, except for the lid; there’s an almost Escher-like way to the way you’ve misinterpreted your overhang, which turns flat half way round:

A very entertaining second entry, though - cute. And the third entry is a work of genius - a great idea, beautifully realised.

A host of politicos from GKB, of varying sizes - signifying their political footprint? That’s a very tiny lid!

Some pulsating waste from lwc - I like the addition of the heavy duty rivets to keep the lid on. Great floating sparks, which make a big difference to the fiery feel; not sure about the small foreground flames, which seem rather two-dimensional. Plenty of political balance in the second entry - I really enjoy these complex animations.

A suitably gory entry from Ant Snell, with strong topical overtones - Gosport War Memorial Hospital is currently undergoing an investigation into the premature deaths of hundreds of patients. Those bloodstains are splendid - but beware of using the same drips four times! Good to see you back, Ant.

Dumped tabloids from Josephine Harvatt, featuring three editions of the UK’s most toxic newspaper. I applaud the sentiment, but condemn your lack of shadows!

I enjoyed the technical skill of michael sinclair’s entry, as well as the attention to detail. But after much deliberation I’ve decided I have to remove it from public view on the grounds of taste: I think showing the execution of a public figure, however odious you may find him, is a step too far. Visitors can still see the image through the link at the start of this paragraph, of course.

Glowing, green toxic waste from tooquilos - with an interestingly sunken opening to the container. Now that avoids lifting the lid! Some great detail in the animated version - the slogan on the back of Trump’s jacket, leading to the free-flowing toxic gunk, the wafting of Melania’s hair in the breeze, and of course that child… clever stuff!

Meteorological weirdness from Jota120, with a representation of clouds being sucked into the container. Well, it almost works… you’ve set yourself a tricky task, and one that I think could make a good Challenge in the future. Not sure those clouds look like they’re really being sucked in, though. Interesting.

A very wordy entry from srawland - you’re going to have to slow the pacing a lot if we’re to have time to read it all! Fortunately there’s a Pause button. But I’m being frivolous: you’re making a very serious point here, and your examples are well chosen. Oh, and a very neatly opening trash can, despite the glitchy lid.

Re: Challenge 711: Offensive waste
Thanks Steve. Yes, the lid is on the small side but it makes it easier for Trump’s tiny hands to pull it closed behind him when he leaves

Sara - nicely done. Make it slightly longer and send it to Shep Smith at Fox News?

Re: Challenge 711: Offensive waste
To be honest I visualised it as flat and non recessed. But your way is much better. Thanks Steve.

No - look at the bottom left hand corner. Definitely recessed.

To my eye it can be interpreted as recessed or flat. I had seen it as the latter. However it's still my bad because, if you accept my interpretation, the lid wouldn't close!

So I am damned either way ..........
