Challenge 717: Load me up
I spotted this hapless couple of shoppers last weekend, trying to fit their purchase into a car that's obviously too small to take it. What additional technology might they need in order to get their package home? High res is here. NOTE: I'm off on my holidays this afternoon, and will be out of action for two weeks. The next two challenges will be published by the ever-obliging David Asch, and I'll write up my comments to those, as well as this one, on my return in late August. |

Steve, can you tell us the name of the shop where you took this photo? |

No, David, I am trying to figure out what could possibly be in that box. Is it from a DIY store, furniture store or somewhere else, who or what is Maraxxx or Maroxxx, how two older people could handle somethng seemingly so cumbersome, and, of course, why on earth would they seemingly be resting it on the boot in the first place. |

Ah .... Yes ...... You do like to think things through ...... It shows in the quality of so much of your work ....... Me, I tend to just look for a large hammer and start banging at things ...... Mind you I am dead curious about the origins of this too. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Zooming in on the label and flipping it the right way up it looks like some kind of sofa or recliner. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

My guess would be that its something along the lines of outdoor furniture. Its all this hot weather must have gone to their heads if they think they can get it in that car. |

Re: Challenge 717: Load me up
One question to the UK members. I originally thought Steve had decided to protect the privacy of the car owners by covering up the license plate numbers. However, looking closer, it appears that there is actual tape across the plates. Are people obscuring their car plates? Does this have something to do with Brexit? _________________ I'm still learning. |

This must be Steve. To physically conceal your number plate is illegal. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 717: Load me up
After their two hour failed effort, they finally returned the first item for something a bit smaller... |

Very clever the way you have slid the background with the figures. Lateral thinking. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 717: Load me up
Thanks David, This was my first impression for this challenge, but it took a little longer to rebuild a suitable truck and reconstruct the background than the other two. (I left off the tailgate on purpose.) |
