Re: Challenge 719: No sun in Fortia
You left me behind somewhere about half way through........ But there's some very interesting techniques in there so when I have the time I shall go through this again and try to actually sing along to your description with the image itself. Thanks Mariner. Very educational. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Surely nobody would harness two horses to a trap like that. |

As Gordon has already hinted there is such a thing as having too much sun ... _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Nice work on the moving vegetation Loyd Michael great work as usual I don't consider the first "static" image an entry: just completing the brief. All my work (a labour of love) is in the animated gif NOTE: I have re-submitted my "improved and further animated entry. |

Re: Challenge 719: No sun in Fortia
I don't mind replacing the sky when buildings and such are involved, but with trees, shrubs and the fine leaves, I find it to be a real pain and prefer not to fool with it. However, I put good judgment aside and gave this one a go. How I did it... a little like Mariners suggestion and a lot of my own hodge-podge of hacker's 'try this, try that'. This one's okay, but I still have never changed out a sky with complicated tree leaves that I was completely satisfied with. Specific methods? I can't remember... oh well. |

Yes, there is a thing as too much sun. Love the vulture, Josephine. Animation: http://vimeo.com/286463395 I wanted to do another parallax with this animation but my computer kept crashing. I finally had to give up on that idea and just go with simple changes in opacity. _________________ I'm still learning. |

If you had only known about ao.com Steve you could have ordered a replacement sun bulb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KS1Qs0i78k |

Loyd temporarily disable the additional layers (sky and horse riders), and go to Adjustments---Shadow and Highlights--click OK and I promise you it will be OK! |

Re: Challenge 719: No sun in Fortia
Thanks for the tip Michael. I have a tendency to manually adjust levels towards a dark and moody side (I lose a lot of detail this way) and forget that most viewers don't and shouldn't see it the same as me. |

David and Sarah - that is just how my poor garden is looking at the moment - my crocosmia are kaput! Some very ingenious and painstaking entries on one of the most fiddly challenges ever - particularly love Anna's roiling clouds! _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Nice work Anna. I have added further animations, so I'm re-submitting my entry: note how I have made the Bumblebee's wings move. |

Great entries all. I returned from a long ride to get back here -> (there are about 10x variations, but I don't know why, so this it). |
