Re: Challenge 726: The fortune teller
My excuse for this poorly executed image is that given the time I have corners are cut. I remembered to create a mirror image of Zoltar, but not of the three "man" figures I used. When I realized I had forgotten, it was too late to go back and re-animate and render 6 figures. I just have to accept the ding. I also want to point out that Mixamo is very limited when it comes to crystal ball gazing. In fact, they do not have such an animation. I had to use one they claimed was an Orc standing still.

Anyway, I have such a gem in Tony as he loves doing the voice overs.

Re: Challenge 726: The fortune teller
First to cross my palm with silver this week was lwc, with a quick patch from a different shot of the same booth. Interesting. Quick point about perspective: a sphere, seen from any direction, is always spherical. A splendid second entry, in which the animations really bring the scene to life. A really enjoyed the subtlety of this one, Loyd, as well as the smoothness of the movement. I enjoyed the third entry, but you really need to take another look at your perspective: that table shouldn’t be sloping away like that! Here is a quick fix:

I enjoyed Josephine Harvatt’s Bake Off tribute, complete with eggs, sugar caster and cake. He’s got an oven in there too? I like how you’ve cut him off at the waist, and that plaster is a treat. But a reflection on the glass (yes, I know I asked you to remove them, but no-one takes any notice of what I ask for) would make it that much more realistic:

I enjoyed GKB's Zoltar, with his computer keyboard and cracked glass, and a good reflection in that side window. What? No contactless payment? Small keys for such big fingers in the second entry - I think he could sacrifice an octave or two for the sake of better playability. I enjoyed Anna’s guest appearance in the animated version - and a nifty maple leaf at the end.

A clever spin from Ben Mills, whose fortune teller tells you if you’re fit to drive home. Very neatly done. All it’s missing is a straw dispenser. And perhaps a girl in a bikini. Surprised you didn’t spot that one.

Inspirational genius from DavidMac, whose fortune teller is both repairing his own faulty cogs and painting a sign on the window at the same time. Ingenious. Perhaps you could have pinched a bit of reflection from the side to go over the body workings? Splendid. And I enjoyed the animation in the second entry!

Looks like a fun-packed booth from Ant Snell - sorry you couldn’t get the GIF to play! Did you tell Photoshop to animate it in the Save for Web dialog? Very good perspective, all the same.

I’m impressed with the way Mariner has not only completely cleaned up the fortune teller, but managed to replace the reflections with the same reflected scene. That must have taken some doing! Not sure about the significance of the gun, or indeed my head floating in his crystal ball - perhaps I’m there to point out that his hands are radically different colours?

A beautiful setting from tooquilos, with new curtains and some extra bling for Zoltar. A great intro to the animated version, creeping through the mist to Zoltar’s tent - with a fantastic spinning coin and card set. A fine spinning crystal ball, too, and I like how it links into a shop full of Turkish lamps! How appropriate. Great to see all your source material, too.

A superbly cleaned-up fortune teller from Ben Boardman, who has done an excellent job of removing those reflections - that must have taken a lot of work! Good to see you back, Ben.

A juggling teller from Deborah Morley, with some nifty Fibers-generated curtains. Mesmerising - I could watch that for ages.

A dancing buddha from michael sinclair. Well, you can see the thought process: Fortune teller - dancing buddha - add a beard. Nicely done, although I’d wouldn’t have let the sky show through at the bottom.

A packed booth from Jota120, full of mystery. It fits in well, but watch the perspective at the bottom: it wouldn’t take much fiddling to put that right.

I see srawland has moved Zoltar indoors, surrounded by more recent arcade machines. I really enjoyed the animated version - your friend Tony is a real star, isn’t he.

_______________

Oh - and many thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone, but you're a month too early...

I looked at reflections but laziness won the day. Nicking from the left would have done it easily. Never occurred to me. Shame!

Re: Challenge 726: The fortune teller
Thanks Steve - I did experiment with putting a Bake Off sticker / frosted design to indicate a glass front but as we both know Mr Perspective is not my friend

"that table shouldn’t be sloping away like that!"

My nemesis... the ever elusive proper perspective...

Thanks Steve.

Re: Challenge 726: The fortune teller
Thanks Steve. Yes a bit sloppy with lower perspective, kept getting unsolicited interruptions. I'd do it another way if started again.
