Challenge 738: Cave painting
I spent a few days on the fascinating island of Gran Canaria, off the west coast of Africa, early in January. I was intrigued to that the mountain sides were full of caves, in which the indigenous people lived before the Spanish conquistadors enslaved them.

Unusually for archaeological sites, you're allowed to explore them freely and even go right inside them - and it's a very humbling experience to sit where these people sat thousands of years ago.

Here's a view from inside one such cave. Can you show how it might have appeared when it was inhabited?

You might like to use this display from a local museum for inspiration.

High res is here.

Re: Challenge 738: Cave painting
Apparently the Guanches, who were the indigenous inhabitants when the Spaniards arrived, came from north Africa around 500 BC and had pale skins and even some blond hair and blue eyes.

Thanks to DavidMac I changed my characters from dark skinned to light - so here's the reworked version of our indigenous Gaunches.

The cave image just screamed ‘2001’ at me, to the point that I might even rerender my 2001 spaceship/ space station animation to include this image.

Some people might be barking up the wrong tree with this one.
