Challenge 748: The Ely radiator
I visited Ely Cathedral last weekend, which rises up out of the flat Norfolk landscape like a magical castle.

Stunning roof, columns and so on in this 11th Century architectural masterpiece; but what particularly captivated me was the radiators. There are a dozen or so of these, each taller than me, located in alcoves around the interior of the building. And they seem to work really well.

Can you pull this magnificent piece of Victorian engineering out of the shadows and give it the attention it deserves?

High res is here.

I'm thinking of selling my car, so I took it to get a snapshot or two this morning and had a steam-line break. I'll have to fix it first, but look for it on E-bay...

BTW - Before Steve, or anyone else, notices that the horizon lines of my espresso machine are completely inconsistent with those of the painting, I would like to point out that they are completely consistent with Marcus Geeraerts' abilities as a painter..........

Great animations Loyd.
Biggest part of some of these challenges is figuring out what to do with the subject : Here goes;

Thanks Frank!

I must say, your chess pieces are quite beautiful. For some reason I can only think of silly stuff lately.

For the record David, the car is a 1922 Morgan Family-Runabout, modified to suit my needs.

Love the simple lighting, and the bevelled edges on the board. Is it your own construction?

Re: Challenge 748: The Ely radiator
Thanks Loyd, Michael and David. The board was from online and adjusted for the pieces, the lighting was in large part done in camera raw with gradient and radial filters.

Love it, Anna. That song didn't play much in the U.S. because the music video was banned at the time (1984) for being too controversial.
