attempt at 99.9% Photoshop
Still eagerly waiting for the book to arrive. Perhaps the volcano and disruption to flights may be the problem here.

Anyway, thought Id have a go at creating a couple of things from scratch. The image of the baby is the only thing that was imported..the rest is all PS.

Well done, and you haven't even got the book yet, and what a beautiful baby baby.

Excellent! I really like the lighting on those buttons.

One point about the iPhone: if you draw a round-cornered rectangle, and then stretch it, the corners get stretched as well. It's much better to use the Shapes tool to set the corner radius you want, and then draw the actual shape in one go.

Thank you so much! I was really pleased with the outcome of these. Cant wait for the book.

Im not sure I understand, Steve, about setting the corner radius. Never heard of this before.

Do you refer to this in one of your books? Im interested to know more about it.

One of the options in the Shapes tool is for a round-cornered rectangle. You can set the radius of the corners in the Options bar for the Shapes tool.

Simple!

Maybe an idea Steve. I wasnt aware of being able to change the radius and Im sure there are a lot of other things about shapes I dont know about.

I would certainly be grateful if you did a rundown of them in your next book

Great, I hadn't used the Shapes tool until 100% PS, Still quite confusing, so I see that I will have to buy your new book.
