Hello.....What Did I Miss?
I accidentally stumbled across How To Cheat In Photoshop 2nd Edition and what a treasure! Excellent book Steve! I was really struggling with the "other books". They always left me uninspired, confused and tired!

Your book has really gotten the wheels in my head turning and I've been inspired again! Thanks!

So what I want to know is, what did I miss in the 1st edition and can it still be purchased?

Yes I would like to know what was in the first book I also missed it and would consider adding it to my bookshelf if it isn't more or less the same as what in the second edition.

But yes it can still be purchased

There's really nothing in the first book that wasn't included, or adapted, for the second. The new one isn't a wholly new book, it's a revision of the first.

But the third edition's going to have lots of great new stuff

Looking forward to the third edition. How long before we can expect to see something from it?

Re: Hello.....What Did I Miss?
I suspect the answer to that question involves "How long is a piece of string?"

Steve is an Alpha-tester for Adobe and is currently reviewing some features all of which are very hush hush. Which might mean the next Adobe Photoshop version is nearing completion then again it may be very early in the testing stage and may be many months yet. But when the next version of PS is ready the book, I'm sure, will follow soon after.

Re: Hello.....What Did I Miss?
The third edition will be delayed by a couple of months, I'm afraid. I'm working on another book which has to be done first - it's an introduction to Photoshop Elements for kids, and (although I say it myself) it's going to be a real cracker.

I can't, of course, comment about any future versions of Photoshop, except to say that you're all going to be absolutely blown away by it.

Nuff said.

As I suspect, will our bank balances

Re: Hello.....What Did I Miss?
I would certainly hope that our bank balances would not be so much impended, as you most realistically imply. I say this in absolute empathy to your comment (above) in that only over a mere year ago I purchesed the Photoshop version 7.0, (now upgraded to 7.1!!) and am only now "coming of age" with other far more advanced Photoshop users. It took lots of study and many-many hours - daily - to get off of the "runway". Then, when one thinks he/she is really "flying", one then finds onself still on the runway. (NO! I don't own Photoshop CS. Hell, I'm still learning Photoshop 7.1!!) 'Nuff said.

Adobe offers upgrades considerably less expensive to subscribers. Lets surely hope that they continue to do so. Specifically if one is as I - an independant, non-profesional hobbiest. Say what?
