What are these symbols?
Hello Everyone, I have been using Photoshopr for some time and have bought my 2nd book (How To Cheat in Photoshop. After looking through the book at Boarders I thought this would be a great book. I get home and on page 4, I am already STUCK! What are these symbols? Nowhere is there an KEY telling me WHAT KEYBOARD KEY is the [S-dash with a lilne above] or the [Square with 4 loops at each end]. I know what [CTRL] is and I know what [ALT] is, but what keys are these? You would think that there would be someplace in the book explaining what KEY each of these symbols are. I use a DELL not MAC. Is it possible that you mean if you ahve a MAC use the [S with line] or ALT for the rest of us? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Angelo |

Those are keys for Apple Macs... in the bottom right corner it has a little box called 'SHORTCUTS' thats tells you the MAC commands are in Red and the PC ones are Blue. ![]() |

Thanks... I am JUST figuring this out. I bet this is a very common question. I have been searching the forum and have seen other questions, and was still not clear. Thanks again. Angelo |

Re: What are these symbols?
Most books give instructions like "now press alt-control-G (Windows) ot option-command-G (Mac)". I find that takes up too much valuable space! So I use colour coding for the instructions for the two different platforms. You have a Dell, so just stick with the blue shortcuts! But as Born2Run says, the key is given at the bottom of every page that uses shortcuts… |
