looking for work fixing pix?
my father normally has me do alot of stuff for him in photoshop but since im so busy (y i havent been active,u green ogre can come out now u r innocent) i have not been able to do it, thefore my fathere was wondering if anyone wants to do it, specifics he described below ------------------- for gown pictures, i dress a manican up in a custom gown and shoot in front of a green (chodacrome) background. need picture isolated - background removed, so i can use with any background. see for example http://blazerdepot.com/blazer%20academic%20pix/PhD_hood_rearview.jpg or http://blazerdepot.com/blazer%20academic%20pix/deluxe_gown_goldpi.jpg i have about a dozen such gown pictures that need the backgrounds removed. also a blazer pic. more pressing is a bar mitzvah that was photogarphhed in which far too many people stood in front of a brown background -- more than could fit. as a result, the background doesn't reach to all of them, so he needs you to 'stretch the background' to fit everyone in. also in some there are shadows that need to be removed. if you're interested, write me back directly sales@capandgowns.com include either sample photos (before/after preferable, but if not, at least the final product) that you have done, either low res atachments, or links to photos would be ok also, here is example (attachment) of photo where background needs to be stretched so you'll have idea what i mean. thanks ![]() _________________ LEXUS BEWARE, I'M BACK |

Surely, rather than stretching the background, it would be easier to simply replace it? _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: looking for work fixing pix?
nice job but the white halo around some of the hair and hats is a bit of a giveaway. Try defringe 1 or 2 pixels. |

Re: looking for work fixing pix?
Thanks Martin, I appreciate your comments. On my original I had actually reduced the halo effect and I thought that it looked okay but now I see how bad it is. At the time I was so pleased at managing to make the selection with the pen tool that I didn't pay enough attention to the detail. However I find that using Defringe or Select-Inverse-Delete has the effect of reducing the size of the image, in this case the heads and hats, which looked wrong when compared to the original. In this version I used Select, Select-Modify-Contract 1 pixel, Select-Feather 1 pixel. Then I used the Clone tool with a small soft edged brush, sampling INSIDE the selection and cloning around the OUTSIDE of the selection, only on the parts where there was a problem. In a couple of places I sampled OUTSIDE on the background layer as this worked better. Finally a few clones with no selection completed the job. So here is my (improved) effort. ![]() |

Re: looking for work fixing pix?
Really nice job. What I actually did was select, modify, contract (2 pix), inverse, fill (clear, foreground color, 50%), gaussian blur (1 pix). As we know there are many routes in Photoshop for arriving at pretty much the same destination. Just keep having fun with it. |
