A question of copyright
Hi Steve, I bought the 2nd edition and would like to use one of the images from the Hemera collection for a project in InDesign. It will be advertising the IT course that I help to run for West Kent College. I am exceedingly nervous about breaching copyright and would appreciate your guidance on this. I have missed participating in the Friday Challenge but if work slackens a bit in August, I will be back to have a go. And I am keen to get Edition No. 4 having just bought CS3. I'm not Steve (!), but this is what I've found about it ... According to the book that comes with the disks, users "are free to use, modify and publish Hemera Photo-Object images as they wish subject to the exceptions as listed below: You may not: create scandalous, obscene or immoral works using Photo-Object images resell any of the digital Photo-Objects or other images, sublicense or otherwise make available for distribution or use separately or detached from this product use the Photo-Object images related to identifiable individuals or entities in a manner which suggests their association with or endorsement of any product or service unless you clearly print a statement which indicates that in the case of an indiidual, the person is a model and is used for illustrative purposes only use the Photo-Object images' electronic format online, unless all of the following conditions are met: - the images are incorporated for viewing purposes only; - no permission is granted to download and save the images for any reason use the Photo-Object images' electronic form, including multimedia applications, unless all of the following conditions are met: - the images are incorporated for viewing purposes only; - the images are embedded; - the product is not similar to or does not compete with a product produced by Hemera; - the images do not represent a significant portion of the content of the application; and - credit is given to Hemera within the application."
