Two Post Only rule
I didn't realize there was a "two post only" rule in the Friday Challenge. I apologize for excessive posting and will abstain from this practice in the future. Is this the place we can make comments and ask questions about techniques and such? Neil _________________ "I haven't failed.... I've found 10,000 ways that don't work!" Thomas Edison |

Seems that things have changed alot over the last few years... Sorry if my post within the Friday Challenge has either offended anyone or put anyone off posting. I have deleted it now ![]() I personally do find it off putting trying to find the new entries in amoungst the various posts and tutorials, but we all have to live with things that are not our cuppa. Re: Two Post Only rule
Actually, the "two post" rule was introduced over a year ago, at a time when some people were firing off several shots at the Friday Challenge - it was there because it was taking me so long to write up the final report, and because it was felt that entries should be more considered. So the idea evolved that people should post and entry, and then update it in the light of reader comments. The "two post" thing was never meant to apply to comments on other people's posts. But tutorials do seem to break up the flow rather, and perhaps should appear in the tutorials section. We don't really have any hard and fast rules here. Just a few guidelines to make sure everything runs smoothly. |

Re: Two Post Only rule
Tabitha, you haven't offended me and I hope my original post didn't offend anyone either. I too find it off putting to visit the forum for the FC when I have to trawl through loads of posts and tutorials to find new entries.I thought we had a space on the forum for tutorials of techniques so that's where I'd expect to see them. The forum has changed over the last few years but I hope it's still a place where we can respectfully voice our opinions and views as users and possibly learn new ways to create with PS (edit - 37 seconds between me sending this and Steve sending his, I dont normally repeat what has just been said) _________________ minds are like parachutes - they only work when they are open |

Re: Two Post Only rule
I am glad that is settled. I was feeling a little uncomfortable that by exchanging comments on other cheaters' posts I had broken a rule and upset people. I echo babybiker's comments on the FC; the exchange of comments during the week before and after Steve's invaluable critique is what makes this Forum so special. Long may it continue. ![]() |

Re: Two Post Only rule
So, that's settled then ![]() Yes, I can imagine it must be a challenge on it's own for Steve to sit down and virtually write a small book on every challenge because a lot of members send multiple entries. But sometimes you get a bit excited and want to desperatly post that thing, and then the next day you create something which you think is even better and want to post that one too etc. So from now on...Less is more! ........................ Didn't know I can delete my own posts if I wish to. Must investigate how to do that. ..just in case I slip....... |

No problems here. Glen and Tabitha, what I wrote was not meant directly toward you. I was merely stating my opinion of how I see it, but I am glad you got the ball rolling before it got out of hand completely. I guess in the case of my "tutorial" post, hardly a tutorial, I could have posted "see tutorial section for detail". I apologize for that. I'm not really one to have enough experience to advise anyway. I actually felt guilty posting it. No ill feelings here toward anyone. _________________ Steve Mac |

Re: Two Post Only rule
When I want to make a change to a photo that I have posted, I just go into edit, and change the link to the photo to a link on my server. Once it is linked to my server, I can change it as often as I want, without having to repost. |

Vibeke, Just go into edit on the post you want to delete and "delete" any wording, links, etc and/or make whatever changes you want to, then send! ![]() _________________ "I haven't failed.... I've found 10,000 ways that don't work!" Thomas Edison |
