checking the size
hi this may sound very amateurish... is it possible to measure objects in photoshop? i am designing a flyer in photoshop CS2, it is 6 cm x 9 cm and i don`t know how big or small are the elements im working with (their exact size)... isn`t there a dialog box where i can check the size, and scale my pics? like in ilustrator? hope its possible, thanks |

Hi Vicho, Press Ctrl R, or Cmd R to turn rulers on and off. Click and hold on the eyedropper tool to select the ruler measurement tool. You can also set guides by pulling them out from the rulers, or select view > New guide. Go to preferences > Units and Rulers to set you measurement preferences. |

vicho the more corporate work you do the more rulers you will use. you can also right click on the rulers itself and select pixels, inches, centimeters, etc. also go into your info palette and you can check that information as well. there is tons of useful information in that palette also for more information on rulers, scaling in general you can go to the top menu choose help > photoshop help and read the rulers articles. they really do help. hope this helps you abit and good luck! |

Hi Vicho, Yes you'll get used to it. A couple things that I didn't think about that might help you, When using the measure tool, hold the shift key down to get it to pull out straight at 90 degree or 45 degree angles. You can also go to view > show > grid, or Ctrl '/Cmd ' to turn the grid on and off. Set the grid size from the preferences menu. Dave. |

when exploring the rulers i found that i could set the "zero" point wherever i like just by dragging the little square in the corner, itīs simple and useful..! see you |
