How to Cheat in Elements
A little announcement: David Asch and I have just completed How to Cheat in Photoshop Elements 6, which will be published at the end of this year. It covers all the best Cheating techniques for the Elements user, including some special extras - such as two ways of using Layer Masks in Elements (the program doesn't officially support them), loads of extra Layer Styles, and much more. I know this won't be one for the bookshelves of most Forum members, but if you have friends who use Elements - it doesn't have to be version 6, any version since 3 is compatible - then we'd appreciate it if you could recommend the book to them. This is the third book in the How to Cheat series: the second was How to Cheat in Flash, which was published a couple of months ago.  |

I'm a member of my local photo club and a lot of my amateur photographer friends can't afford Photoshop so they work with Elements. I've presented them HTCIPS a couple of times but now I can tell them about this new arrival! "...at the end of this year" Does that mean Christmas by any chance? Oooer... this is spooky. Just this evening I was speaking with a friend who was asking about the cheaper Photoshops and I recommended Elements 5 (didn't know about 6). I mentioned I couldn't recommend a book and said I wished Steve had written something so I really could recommend. Voila... Its the Steve and David Show. Now I'll have to send a mail off tomorrow. Glad you all seem to like the cover! We were pleased with it. It went through several variations: we originally had a dolphin leaping out of the screen, which looked very dramatic, but our publishers pointed out that most Elements users don't own dolphins. They wanted a dog! I think this solution is the best. And yes, it should be out in time for Christmas! |

Just to confirm: How to Cheat in Elements is avaialble from the 17th December in the US/Canada and the 31st for the rest of us. The website is now up so do go and have a look. _________________ If you hold on to the past, sooner or later you'll lose your grip. |
