Steve, can you help please?
My login's gone all funny - I've had to log in using my alternative ID. I'm usually katew, but I've had to log in as katewilkey. I've also lost my title - Virtual Virtuoso, and my number of posts. Do you know what's happened? |

Re: Steve, can you help please?
Hi Steve I finally got round to getting the Fourth Edition today, it just arrived as i opened it it seemed to be the same as edition Three? On a closer inspection there are new projects there but many are the same as the Third edition. Is this a printing mistake or am I missimg something? |

Re: Steve, can you help please?
It's a revision, not a wholly new book so still has many of the old projects as well as new ones; otherwise first time readers would have to buy the first 3 before they could progress to the 4th. _________________ Leap and the net will appear |

Re: Steve, can you help please?
Well then new readers should have to play catch up? I've paid double for the same book to be fair, I don't care about the money but was really looking forward to new lessons from the book.... |

Re: Steve, can you help please?
This is always a problem with a new edition, Elliott. As I explain every time a new one appears, it's an update of the old book to encompass new features in the Photoshop upgrade. That said, this edition does include about 80 pages of new material, as well as 100 new royalty-free images from photos.com and over 300 images from forum members. The quantity of video tutorials has also gone up from about 40 minutes to over two hours. I realise the fact that so much of the book is repeated may disappoint readers who were expecting a completely new book, but I do try to put in as much added value as possible. |

Re: Steve, can you help please?
Yeah in reality most Photoshop books are like this so as to keep present customers upto date whilst not alienating new readership. For example Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Photographers by Martin Evening is just an updated version of his CS2 book and the same is true for Adobe Photoshop CS3 Studio Techniques by Ben Willmore. I know how hard it is at times justifying the extra expense for a few more pages but you always have the option, like I did, which was to sell my old How to Cheat in Photoshop to a good friend who was curious as to how I achieved my photomontages, that offset some of the cost of updating to the new version. |

Thank Maiden, Steve & David just a mis-understanding. And anyway I have really enjoyed the new tutorials. Perfectly makes up for it ![]() |
