No sound on some of the movies
Fourth edition DVD

The movies listed below play with no sound (tried from both the DVD and the hard drive).

A better impression.mov
Ageing process.mov
Boxing clever.mov
Change of skin 2.mov
Change of skin.mov
Combining body parts.mov
Complex shadows.mov
Day for night.mov
Flyaway hair.mov
Free Transform.mov
Hard light shading.mov
Making it rain.mov
Opening doors.mov
Perspective Crop.mov
Reverse ageing.mov
RGB and CMYK.mov
Rust & grime.mov
Silver into gold.mov
Watercolor.mov

The others play just fine so my sound system is OK.

Running on a MAC Pro with 2 - Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors. Using Quicktime player 7.3, Mac OS 10.4.11

Anyone else having any problems with these ?

Love the book BTW !

Tanx,
Mike

Re: No sound on some of the movies
This is a strange one - hadn't come across this before. Let me check it out and try to find out why this is happening.

Re: No sound on some of the movies
Right. It seems this is a problem with OS X 10.5, and it's affecting all kinds of movies. I'm really not sure what can be done about it at my end - might just have to wait for Apple to come up with a fix! If anything else occurs to me in the meantime, I'll let you know.

Sorry about this.

Thanks for the quick response Steve. I'm on 10.4.11 and will be upgrading to 10.5 shortly. Suspect this has been an Apple problem even before 10.5. I'll query Apple and see if I can get any admission of responsibility ( Ha !).

Re: No sound on some of the movies
Try the volume slider on the movie player you are using. Some of the movies are turned way down.
