Steve - Q about offering old tablet
Steve - a while ago I was fortunate to be offered a free graphics tablet which I am about to upgrade in a couple of weeks and I would like to return the favour by "passing it on". I would like to ask for permission to offer it free here on the forum to our UK members - for example, something like "don't post your address yet, just reply with your username and say you live in the UK and I'll draw a random name out of a hat on blah blah date". I won't post about it until a) my new tablet has arrived and settled in, and b) Steve has personally given me permission so please don't send me PMs about it yet. Do you think it would be reasonable to ask the new owner of the tablet to cover the Royal Mail Recorded postage costs? A carefully boxed tablet will weigh a couple of kilos. Merry Christmas, Daniel. |

What a lovely thought, Daniel. I won't be on your list as my lovely husband bought me one last year, but someone will really love it! |

Hi Daniel, I agree with Katew, it's a wonderful thing your doing. I don't qualify, first because I live in Vancouver Cda, and second, I have a pen and tablet. Abby-Helen |

Graphics tablet Eh? Hmmm! My doctor said something about keepin taking the tablet ..... which I would ..... if I had one! On the same note I have a copy of Martin Evening's "Adobe Photoshop CS for Photographers" to dispose of in the same way. Ted |

Re: Steve - Q about offering old tablet
I know Steve is away from the forums over the Holiday period - and the reason why I am waiting to hear from him is that there are rules about this sort of thing which I may not be aware of. I have ordered my replacement tablet - it should be with me in the first week of January - so once I hear from Steve, I'll hope to be able to offer it here. With your book, by the way, there are several places you can use to pass on second-hand books on apart from ebay and Amazon Marketplace. If you look at www.greenmetropolis.com (a site in the UK) you will see that they have an option to donate your sales proceeds to a specific charity they have nominated to receive them. |

Daniel, This is an excellent - and very generous - idea. Please, go ahead and let the tablet find a worthy new home! Steve |

Re: Steve - Q about offering old tablet
Thank you for the go-ahead, Steve. In fact my new tablet (Wacom Intuos3 A5wide) arrived today and is settling in nicely so I will try to get the old one weighed and boxed all ready for dispatch then post the full details and rough postage cost within the next day or two when we can see who is interested. |
