What camera ?
I was just wondering what sort of camera everyone is using to take picture to use in photoshop ? I know i didn't want to spend a fortune on something like an SLR, but also wanted something better than a standard point and click. So i went for a Kodak EasyShare P850. I can still add lenses and filters, but it's a discontinued camera and doesn't cost the Earth and can still take some very good photos with lots of zoom. So what camera are you using ? |

Gday My first post on this interesting Forum ![]() If i was you id decide if you want a compact camera you can fit in your pocket or a larger one long shots. There are compact cameras now that zoom and fit in yor pocket such as the newly announced Canon SX100 which looks pretty good, but id go for a Canon S3 or S5 for overall shooting situations with a 12x zoom and flip screen that the other camers dont have. I like the new Canon 650 and G9 cameras very much as well, probably one of the best choices if you need a camera to fit in your pocket with 6x zoom, Image Stabilisation and the usual good quality pictures this series of cameras seems to always produce. |

I agree absolutely. By all means, invest in a digital SLR for high quality photography - but make sure you also have a compact, as small as possible, so you always have a camera with you. |

I have a Casio EX-1000 which I find very handy for taking out and about for making my own stock photo library. Because of the size of the sensor, images can get very grainy in poor lighting. If I am going to make a day of taking photos then I use my EOS 1DS II. The extra resolution comes in handy when I print on a large format (44") printer ![]() |

I have to agree with Steve on this - for my professional work I use a Mamiya ZD and a Sony a700 but this is all quite bulky, and when you add a few lenses and tripod, and a couple of flash heads, it's awkward to carry around so a pocket sized camera is an essential. I use a small Fuji Finepix and it works for me and seems to render fleshtones really well, but as has been said, the best camera in the world is the one in your hand. |
