Receiving emails
Not a huge problem and I remember having this issue some time ago and it was rectified...but each time I post immediately after I receive an email. Below is an example of one. Just wondering if someone knows how to stop them? Your message sent on 01 Nov 2009 10:14:41 -0000 cannot be delivered to asacharoff@cogeco.ca. The reason for this is: 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'<asacharoff@cogeco.ca>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table' Sending Host: bod.iomart.com -------------------- Votre message envoyé le 01 Nov 2009 10:14:41 -0000 n'a pu être envoyé à asacharoff@cogeco.ca. I also get them. Haven't a clue how to stop them though. _________________ Why is there only one word for ‘Thesaurus’? |

Not being a computer wiz myself but here is my penneth. It sounds like when you post to wherever (but presumably HTCIPS) somewhere in your 'To' file there is an address for "A Sacharoff @ Cogeco" in possibly California (CA ?). This email address is obviously no longer active, and that is why you are getting the message that it couldn't be delivered. Maybe this happens if there are any defunct email addresses on the HTCIPS database because, if we are subscribed to a particular forum, the forum will send us an email to inform us of a new entry. If it sends it to a defunct address, we are informed that it was unable to deliver to that address. Maybe Steve or a technician can throw some more light on it. Well, that's an odd thing. Turns out the email address belongs to a user called raffy - who hasn't been on here for years. I've deleted the user, so with any luck the nuisance emails will stop. Still no idea what caused them, though. |

Steve, Two of the addresses that I get reject e mails about are sagala.mulindwa@spymac.com & digitaleonardo25@hotmail.com Gordon _________________ If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you ever tried. |
