having a hard time selecting
I'm having a hard time selecting cleanly. Changing backgrounds is what I usually need to do. I'm pretty new at this. Any suggestions? |

You could try using the extract tool, it's a bit tricky at first but can give good results. Sometimes, if the images you are working on are low resolution, the best way is to make a loose selection, promote its own layer and use a mask to remove the unwanted background elements. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Hard to tell exactly what you mean. What tools are you using? |

It also depends on the background type & how complex it is. Solid backgrounds are of course much easier to select than others. Magic wand could most likely do that job but if not then other tools are good. I usually use quick mask or pentool but I'm not great with pentool yet. Quickmask is great though! |
