Graphic tablet
Steve,

Is there any way of setting up the tablet so I can use the stylus to paint a gradual fading opacity. It seems to just alter the brush size !

Thanks,

Paul.

Re: Graphic tablet
Paul,

Open the brush palette and turn off Shape Dynamics (which causes the size to change). In the Other Dynamics section, set the flow and opacity to Pen Pressure, and make sure Jitter is set to zero (this causes random opacity effects).

You have to do this for each brush in PS7 and later, which can be a real pain. I'd recommend binning all the standard brushes that come with PS, and building your own: I use a mixture of soft-edged opacity-controlled brushes for shading, and hard-edged, non-opacity-controlled brushes for QuickMask.

...always assuming you're using PS7 or CS, of course!

Steve

Thanks for that, Steve. I spent what felt a lifetime trying to figure that out !!

This will now be a huge time saver

Paul.
