Movies
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, but it would be great to have ALL the tutorials in the book as QuickTime movies. Sometimes the written descriptions can be confusing. I learn better by watching the steps, especially with a sophisticated program like Photoshop. Steve, have you thought about releasing a DVD of ALL the tutorials from the book?

Cheers,
MK

Re: Movies
Well, there have been discussions about possible moving to a DVD next time around. And I agree, the movies are very helpful. The trouble is, they do take such a long time to do!

You're not watching close enough Lexus, it's like those Magical Eye pictures you really have to get close to the monitor for about half a hour and then pull your headback until your eyes focus

Re: Movies
I hate QuickTime, you could use flash instead.
Or better still a DVD

Flash movies as far as video tutorials are concerned are a lot slower and jerkier than Quicktime .mov or .avi movies as for DVD then I suppose that's a solution but there are still a lot of people out there with slower computers who still only have CD players, but then it can be argued that the later versions of Photoshop are designed for faster computers anyway.

Re: Movies
While movies are fine, I prefer a book. I enjoy Steve's tutorials and find them helpful, but when I execute his method, I use his book. I can place it in my lap and go over the instructions step by step. Also, I grab my trusty magnifying glass and look at the details.

I can't do that with a movie, pausing it and jumping to Photoshop, then back is hard. Together they work wonders, but if I had a choice of either a book or DVD, I'd go for the book.

I am so thankful for the instant help I received earlier, "how to delete a selection", that I am compelled to add my two cents. The book is the best as Neal described. Too hard to switch back and forth.
