Friday Challenge..Week 75
With just 3 weeks to go until the Friday Challenge reaches another milestone birthday, I was wondering if there were any plans to do another 'special' challenge, ala Week 50 ??

The reason I ask is, I remember being excited at the week 50 contest, wondering if it was possible to effectively incorporate every past challenge image into 1 massively detailed montage.

I jumped straight in, and spent ages on the thing, until I realised I'd never finish it in time.

As there were only 3 entries that week, I'm guessing I wasnt the only one!

In the 6 months (cant believe half a year has already passed since then !) the forum has welcomed alot of new members, so I'd like to suggest something similar for week 75- only with a few weeks advance notice this time !

Re: Friday Challenge..Week 75
The 50th anniversary Challenge was an odd one. The first-ever offer of a prize - a copy of Photoshop for Photographers - seems to have put off a lot of people, with the result that there were only three entries. I don't know if it was just that everyone found it too daunting, or because it introduced a competitive element that changed the nature of the Challenge.

Certainly, the 50th FC did spark off a rather heated debate about competition, reader titles, and the whole nature of the contest. In the end, I felt that a lot of people didn't take part because they felt their work wasn't going to be good enough - and that's not an attitude I want to foster here. When the FC is there for its own sake, it works well; but when there's a prize of stake it seems to change it for the worse.

The upshot of which is, I really don't want us to have to go through all that again. At least, not so soon after the last one. But perhaps, when we get to the 100th, I'll organise some kind of special event!
