That's it... I've had enough... I'm outta here (soon-ish)!!!!
My job application to work in Vegas fell through and the casino I work in at the moment has become so unbelievably boring, so I decided it's time to do something about it! Yesterday I got an email telling me I've been accepted for a job on Carnival Cruise Ships... 6-8 months cruising round America / the Caribbean is gonna be very hard work  but it also means I'm not gonna be able to use Photoshop in that time, they do have an internet cafe on board so I'll still pop in and say Howdy!
As of this moment I don't know when I'm leaving, as once I've had my medical and got my Visa sorted out they could contact me and tell me to be in Miami two days later!!!! 
I must make good use of my last few Friday Challenges! _________________ We made a promise we swore we'd always remember, No retreat no surrender |

If I can get a cheap laptop I may be able to do a l'il bit of 'shopping... after all I won't have a shrtage of good photo opportunities!!! The Casino isn't allowed to open when the ships in port, so i'll be getting off the ship and visiting loads of places quite often.  _________________ Now the hardness of this world slowly grinds your dreams away, Makin' a fool's joke out of the promises we make! |

Looks like you found your way to the Americas! Good for you! I'm from Canada and I have been to Miami twice for business and it is an intriguing city. I saw huge cruise ships there. I'm kinda jealous witht he opportunity for photographs and some Photoshop...

Wow! That's gonna be a neat job, B2R. Before I landed in my current job, I was a server at fine dining restaurants for about 3 years. At one of the restaurants that I worked at, there was a server who waited tables on a cruise ship for about 7 years. He was always talking about the experiences he had on the ship. He also said he wouldn't trade those memories for the world!! Had me wanting to drop my dish and jump on a boat! I hope that your experience will be as wonderful as his. Just don't get lost in Jamaica!   |

Sounds like a tuff job...but sumones gotta do it huh? ... don't drink too much of that Caribbean Rum.... (on second thoughts..forget that..drink as much as ya can hehe) good luck buddy... don't foget about us too soon.... take care and I hope it all goes well for you  |

Soon-ish is now less than a month!!!!!
May 17th I fly to San Francisco, board the ship on 18th May and spend the next 6 months cruising around Alaska! Not the best cruise in the world and the tips won't be as good but it's a start and I spend the last month of the contract in the Caribbean! I only found out yesterday, so you don't get much notice! _________________ We made a promise we swore we'd always remember, No retreat no surrender |

Well here I am sitting onboard a cruise ship in Astoria, Oregon... I'm on a short relocation cruise to Vancouver before starting the longer Alaska cruise. I started work the moment I set foot onboard and I've also had to do loads of different inductions meaning I've only had about 5 hours sleep since arriving in the States!!! Unfortunately I'm not allowed to leave the ship until we get to Vancouver as I don't have the correct Immigration forms yet, so I'm looking out the porthole at an amazing looking place and can't go out and explore! _________________ Til' then tramps like us, baby we were born to run |

Welcome B2R however temporary! It does sound a great adventure even though you can't explore it. Have you discovered if you have access to any PS versions to enable you to pass the weary hours when your'e not working? Pix of the boat?? (Purely for use in a challenge you understand!) Ted |
