Photoshop CS verses CS2???
Hi everyone.. I was just wondering what the general opinion was on the CS2 over cs??? I have only ever used Cs and have not been concerned with getting the latest version because I was under the impression it was virtually the same only it catered for RAW imagery...since reading the how to cheat book I am coming across more and more things that only seem to be available in CS2 eg/ the vanishing point tool, the animated gifs etc. I was also under the impression that CS2 was a lot slower then CS?? Would any of you recommend upgrading???I must say that I am interested in Flash animation - but I found the animated GIFs excellent - can these be done in Image ready????? _________________ Talk is cheap and I aint buyin' any. |

Re: Photoshop CS verses CS2???
Virgatron, CS2 does have a lot of new features (some less prominent than others). I have seen reports of it running slowly on some systems but it is a huge application and can be very demanding. The main difference when it comes to animation is that you can now create the frames within PS itself, making the process a little more streamlined. In previous versions, you would have had to switch to Image ready, which is still part of the CS2 package but is geared for web graphics. You can import GIFs to Flash and now that Adobe have taken over Macromedia, it probably won't be long before everything is integrated into one super-package (cue Dr. Evil style laugh). I would recommend upgrading. _________________ If you hold on to the past, sooner or later you'll lose your grip. |

Re: Photoshop CS verses CS2???
For me, the best things in CS2 are Image Warp and Smart Objects. Now that I've been using both of them for a while, it would be impossible to go back to CS. I reckon it's worth the upgrade fee for those two features alone - they're absolutely stunning, particularly when used in combination. |
