Trouble Finding Home
Things didn't work out at the Newspaper. Administrative problems with pay and such. They wanted me at a payscale equivelant to a person flipping hamburgers. (No offense to anyone, that was actually my first job at 15) Gotta love Corporate America! ![]() Freelance is great, but my real love and passion for professional work is Photoshop. And I would like to pursue a career in that field. I must be looking in all the wrong places, because I haven't been able to find an industry that would need a fulltime Photomontage designer. Where should I look? I seem to be in the dark for that matter. ![]() |

That's a real shame, Chris. As I've said before, getting into a publishing environment is the first step: you need to prove what you can do when you're in there. Once you're in a newspaper or magazine environment, you have access to the equipment, people who need Photoshop work done, and - above all - a regular amount of printed material that needs filling. Yes, it may take a while before your skills are noticed, but if you're good then they will be. Don't expect to dive into a top-notch PS editing job straight away! I suppose I'm really urging you to reconsider, or try a similar job elsewhere. Unless you're really desperate to earn big bucks straight away, I think it's worth swallowing your pride for a few months in order to prove what you can do, to people who will be interested. |
