CS3 out now!
I have upgraded to CS3, but with my hand over my heart really wonder if it was worth the upgrade price of £168. I can achieve the same results in CS2; moreover, before you are allowed to install you must have Service Pack2 installed. ![]() |

Re: CS3 out now!
As a matter of interest I was looking at the prices of CS3 Extended. In the States it is $368 and in England it is £368, double the price! So am now trying to decide if I want the extended version (does it use a lot more memory)? I presume so, and whether to buy from the States. Can you do that for an upgrade? The pricing does seem to be a bit of a rip off though. I assume in Canada it will be cheap, what about New Zealand? |

Re: CS3 out now!
Extended's main feature for montage artists is the ability to include and manipulate 3D objects: positioning, rotation and scaling and editing the textures. There are a few other features such as layer stacks and movie editing capabilities but the rest is for scientific purposes (DICOM, molecular counting, etc.). It won't use more memory in itself. As with any version, it depends on what you load into it and the subsequent functions you perform. You won't be able to buy from America via the Adobe site; it automatically redirects you to the UK store. I suppose if you know anyone over there who could buy it on your behalf.. _________________ A happy-go-lucky chap, always dressed in black |

Re: CS3 out now!
B&H in New York can ship it to you for between $30 - $77 depending on shipment method. Just type in 'B&H' into Google and it will take you to their site. It's an Aladdin's cave of photographic and computer goodies and well worth a visit if you are there if only for the spectacle and to see all those customers drooling. Some things, such as cameras, they are not allowed to sell out of the country but lenses are ok as is software or so it would appear. |

Upgrade in NZ is 220.00 pound retail, special162 GBP ($319.00 us) New 625.00GBP retail, special 525 GBP ( $1045.00US) good to see we are not as ore expensive than the rest of the world. As for B&H, we used to get lenses and other photographic equipment from them, never any problems. Must check them out again. |
