Re: Colour Management Tools
I've been using the Huey for a few months, and so far I'm impressed with it. It monitors your room lighting, and matches the brightness of the screen to that - a useful extra, I think.

It all depends what you want it for, though. I use mine so that when I create prepress work I know how it will look on the printed page. If you want to output prints on your own printer, then getting a profile created for that will do you far more good.

The Huey will calibrate your monitor so that you see the most 'lifelike' images. Producing a profile for your printer is a different process entirely: seems to me this is the one you should go for.

Re: Colour Management Tools
I use the Spyder. It is an old model made by Pantone. I don't think they make it anymore, but have replaced it with something new. However, I really like it, in that it can calibrate not only the monitor for correct colors, but also will do a print and scan to adjust your color and scanner so that everything shows the same colors.

The unit I am using needs a dark room to calibrate the monitor, or the calibration will not be correct.
