and when I went to start, there was no cd-rom included with the book. How can I get a replacement?

Your best bet is to contact Focal Press in your country - the details are on the main website. Although I have to say, it's unlikely they'll still have stock of 2nd edition CDs lying around.

If you get no luck, come back here and we'll try to sort you out with something.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly; I called the folks at Focal Press and they told me that they did not have any second edition books and that I should get in touch with the author.
I have started on the exercises in the book and have been able to trudge through them using stock photo found on the web. It just seems that it would be so much easier and that there is info on the cd that would enhance the learning so if there is any way to obtain a copy of the cd I would be grateful! Thanks- it is true that the book is put together in such a way that makes learning fun.
I am just finishing up my Graphic Design degree and am eager to learn techniques in Photoshop to enhance my work. I am a big Saul Bass fan and have been using Illustrator primarily but your book has really been great for me.

If it is okay with you, I'd be glad to burn a copy from my fourth edition copy and mail it to him. Like to pay back for the help I am getting on the forums.
