"Data Driven Graphics"
I was looking through some info on Photoshop CS4 today and it mentioned Data Driven Graphics. I knew that CS3 had this but I have never bothered to find out what it was. But this time I continued to read. Doh! In my line of work this could have saved me many hours. The number of times I have had to create hundreds of thumbnails with titles for a website or for use in a catalogue. The worse thing is when you have finished and someone says "It's nice but can you change the banner colour to green" %"&£$%X%"$*!^ Next time they say that I can do it once and sit back drinking tea while Photoshop does its stuff. For those that have never used this feature, it allows you to create a template base image and then using a text file you can have it replace text on certain layers and replace images and make other things visible or not. If you later need another 50 different versions you just modify the text file and set it running again. Running an action on a batch of images is similar, but it differs in that you can have unique information on each image. |

Indeed, Paul - it's a great help for repetitive jobs. |
