Two screens
Would anyone care to enlighten me as to the advantage of working with two screens? I wasn't aware this was a viable prospect. |

Two screens
Hi James, One of the major reasons for having two screens is that you can put all your Palettes on one screen and have just the image on which you are working full-screen with no clutter. This means that you don't have to keep closing and re-opening tabs and palettes etc because they can stay open all the time. This is a great advantage to people working with Photoshop or any 3D application. It's not much use for just sending the odd e mail although you can have that on one screen while you work on the latest Friday Challenge on the other. You can also have Photoshop on one screen while, for example, Word or Excel, is running on the other. Don't dash out and buy another screen unless you check that your present computer supports two screens, though. _________________ Maturity is knowing when and where to be immature |

Gordon, you are a real gem. Thank you for such an explicate explanation. I am intrigued but not contemplating any immediate action, your caution noted. A consultation with my computer guru is in the offing (My son in law builds my machines) THANKS AGAIN, James |

Re: Two screens
To easily tell if your computer's graphic card can support 2 monitors right-click on your desktop and select Display Settings where it says Monitor you can see 2 boxes labelled 1 and 2 the one labelled 2 is for a second monitor output - if you don't see a box labelled 2 then your card doesn't support an extra monitor. *If you are using Vista right-click anywhere on your desktop and select Personalization then Select Display Settings. |

Re: Two screens
Although I do not have two screens (just one largish one) I think other good uses for two screens would be to: 1. View details on one screen whilst viewing the whole image on the other 2. Watch tutorial videos or reading text tutorials on one screen whilst following along with the tutorial in photoshop or another program on the other 3. Pretending you work for NASA or air traffic control (sorry Gordon!) Vern |

Re: Two screens
Thank you Becky, seems my computer doesn't support two monitors. I would need to upgrade. Vern, you have added coals to the fire, I'm getting interested. James. |
