Tablet
Thanks to a generous Christmas gift I'm able to purchase a new tablet! My very outdated (like 10 years old) Wacom finally quit on me. I've no idea which direction to go in when deciding on a new one. My main concern is my hands - my RA has screwed with my fingers and wrists, so I cannot hold on to a normal sized pen - any suggestions on how to make the pen more user-friendly will be greatlyy appreciated.

Thanx....Joey

Re: Tablet
Joey,

I don't know the best solution for you. I just have older Wacom Intuos 2 and small A6.
What I can say is the thing has travelled round the world with me next to laptop in rucksack (special pocket) and carries on working.
Its very sensitive. Even though so small, its very fast and detailed.

Some people say the bigger ones are a pain. I hope others can give better advice

Sorry can't help very much.

Re: Tablet
Hi Joey,
Im guessing Having Rheumatoid arthritis, you will see people like Physio and occupational therapists.
Have a chat to them as they can supple you with foam/rubber grips for cutlery etc, you would be able to use these on a pen for your tablet. if not similar ones can be purchased on line as in the link below

http://www.crossboweducation.com/Pencil_grips.htm#_Stubbi_Pencil__Grip_

you would obviously have to deactivate the switches on the pen and transfer them to the buttons on the tablet

if you need any more help let me know either on here or if you prefer in a PM

Take care

Simon

Re: Tablet
Joey,

My mother, nan and now my sister have RA. They are strong women, but very difficult, painful to do things. They only have small hands.

Re: Tablet
I'm using the Wacom Intuous4 Medium, but I would rather downgrade to the small. The brush strokes are just too big. It does allow me to map a portion of the tablet so I can choose how big or small the 'active' area will be, so I like that flexibility.

Perhaps the Wacom small tablet will suite you better, so you don't have swipe the pen over a large surface.

Hope it helps

Re: Tablet
Thanks everybody - you've given me food for thought. My old tablet was about 8 inches - is that considered "big"?
