Wacom Cintiq 12 w
Was wondering if anybody has experience of using the Cintiq 12 graphics tablet http://topgraphicstablets.com/wacom-cintiq-12wx/wacom-cintiq-12wx-pen-display

It has a 12 inch touch screen where you draw directly onto the surface!

Or if there are similar better products out there? There are larger cintiqs but I like the idea of being able to draw on my lap so this smaller model sounds great, not so the price!

Ha no but i like spending it! I think you get what you pay for. I guess a graphics tablet would last years before replacing or upgrading, and None of them are perfect but getting the best one is better in the long term.
I use the touchpad on my laptop but it's 3years old now and I need an upgrade! Idealy a detachable, touch screen retina macbook would be nice! If it existed!. There is a company that will convert your macbook into a tablet but the thing is huge and probably not ideal for accurate photoshopping! Plus it costs about the same as this cintiq.
I'm not convinced about this cintiq yet, untill I try one, but it does sound nice.

Small comment: my Wacom Intus has been so robust. Maybe a bit careful packing next to Laptop, but if it can live in my travel rucksack under pressure and abuse, I'm v.impressed. That's all.

Hello Artwel,
Here is a digital book written by somebody who discovered the Cintiq in 2008, when working on his project at the time:
http://books.google.nl/books?id=yWQp-nca0LcC&pg=PA87&lpg=PA87&dq=cintiq+Bert+Monroy&source=bl&ots=aMBx7Hvd78&sig=Yz3r5_cUcGfQ_CjKacQZQ5NS_MA&hl=nl&sa=X&ei=pFj1T42ELsjg8gPkocDBBw&ved=0CFcQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=cintiq%20Bert%20Monroy&f=false
Start reading at page 86 (From Mouse to Tablet).
I have only got a Bamboo, and in CS6 the cursor has changed. It's not in the way anymore, and I'm not realy a painter, so for the moment I'll wait for the next (Wacom) tablet invention.
