Selection
I seem to remember that there is a way to trim an image with the Rectangular Marquee tool so that the four corners are slightly rounded, not the normal sharp corners. I just cannot remember how!

Any help welcome.

Re: Selection
Hi Thistle,

Can't immediately think of how to do it with the Marquee tool but you could try the Rounded Rectangle tool and convert it to a selection.

Someone (Steve?) will now tell us how to do it with the Marquee tool

Re: Selection
I'm not sure if this is the same in the latest version of photoshop since I don't have it.

Here is how to do it:

Create your selection then go to Select > Modify > Smooth. Then type a number for the Sample Radius.

I hope this helps.

Well done Luis. An obscure bit of the menu that I never knew I needed!

Re: Selection
Select your regular Rectangular Marquee tool and in the Options bar set the amount of feather .

Re: Selection
A good set of solutions here! To add one more: make a rectangular selection as usual, then use Refine Edge to increase the Feather and then add Contrast to tighten it again.
