I need a head!
I'm writing a feature for MacUser magazine about Portrait Professional, and rather than using a young glamour model, I'm looking for a shot of a woman "of a certain age", as they used to say. The idea is to show first a highly glamorised version of that person, and then a more restrained version that looks less like a model and more like a real person. I originally wrote this tutorial using the Australian politician Rachel Siewert (see here), even though she was rather more made up than I'd have liked. But the editor got cold feet about it, and we decided we needed to look for someone who would agree to appear. I know there are several women on this forum who would fit the bill perfectly, but it's up to you whether you're willing for your image to appear in the magazine. Anyone care to help out? |

Well I made a painting of my sister a few years ago from a very small photo. I'm not sure what she would think. She was a beauty queen once, as you do.... (not stupid) Also know some of her and my friends from the south who might be interested. A spread of ages. You can always try my mother, but that maybe a step too far at 86,  but does look after herself (elegant).
I know several people/women around here who would be brazen enough. They are assertive, dress well. We have some banter and they would have a laugh They are not not all brazen, all very civil. |

I think my sister would be a very good candidate. Bit older than me now (you know my age), looks after herself fitness, maybe not with food, but fits criteria "of a certain age"... I've got no permissions, but with her character and exposure to public life she might say yes. Of course anyone else perfect. I flow with the wind.  Maybe many here?
Just an idea. |

I think Steve you would have been better off trying to change a man's head into a woman first then the glamour then the ordinary lady. How's that for a challenge? Who's up for being the model? I'd be too easy as I have no hair & a wig would go straight on

Awww, I would have been a head! Luckily, at least for now, I don't think I land in the category of 'a certain age'. It will one day but I plan to be drunk when it happens x |
