Re: Adobe Illustrator
Most of my photomontages consist only of Photoshop images. However, I am much more comfortable creating vector graphics in Illustrator as I have many years of experience working with that program. You could spend years mastering either program or both. It's up to you. -Sara _________________ I'm still learning. |

Re: Adobe Illustrator
Illustrator really isn't a photomontage program. Photoshop will do all you need. |

Re: Adobe Illustrator
Thanks for speedy reply, I'm also learning illustrator right now but it is total different program and approach,I just used it in past for image tracing but now I found a lot of useful tools and techniques which photoshop cannot deliver, so I pass the work afterward to photoshop to finish it |

Re: Adobe Illustrator
If I have a lot of text to work with, I find it is easier to do that portion in Illustrator because their are so many more options to manipulate the text in Illustrator. Whether I start in Photoshop or in Illustrator depends on what I am working on. Sometimes it makes more sense to start in Photoshop and then import that image into Illustrator to finish it. Sometimes I start in Illustrator and end in Photoshop. For this week's banner I created the base image for the sign in Illustrator. I then imported it into Photoshop and made it look like it was made of wood using the technique from the "Making a better impression" tutorial in Chapter 10 of HotChiPs (How to Cheat in Photoshop). Yes the programs are different, but each has it's uses. -Sara _________________ I'm still learning. |

Re: Adobe Illustrator
bilal_izaddin, Hi. • For “photomontage” or image composite, Photoshop is Adobe’s crown jewel for manipulating images. • For vector work, Illustrator is best! • For print page layout and composition, InDesign is your best bet. A far more powerful text engine than Illustrator and Photoshop. All have a very large learning curve. While all those applications appear to have a similar toolbar, It really depends upon the project, the task at hand and which application to use or to combine. Also take into consideration which version of Adobe you are using and your skill level, many methods and techniques. I learn sometime new each time I turn on this computer. Cheers. Kathryn |
