A rather silly question.
In my adobe cloud software page I am shown as having Photoshop V23

In finder I have a folder and app showing Photoshop 22

In the splash screen it's V23 again.

Am I a bear of very little brain or is this confusing?

Re: A rather silly question.
I think I might be able to answer this: like me, you have Photoshop 2022, cos it's 2022, but also like me you have the latest release (23.2.1); for example, if there is a another release or releases it or they might be 24 or 25 whatever. If, however, I'm wrong, then I'll let that Caplin fella explain---I mean that's what we pay him for.

Mr Sinclair is absolutely right. David, you're confusing serial numbers with dates.

Re: A rather silly question.
Thank you Michael and Steve. I had suspected that was probably the case. It just so happens that, for the last several years, versions and years seem to have coincided which led me to think that versions were indeed being named by the year of their release.

This is isn't just idle query. My Wacom slate (particularly the slate buttons) is programmed to behave differently for different apps. The driver detects whatever app is active foreground and adjusts the slate's behaviour accordingly. Since upgrading to V23 it's having difficulty detecting when Photoshop is in the foreground.

Note to Michael. Next bit is a Mac thing. When you see a file ending in .app in Mac OS, which is the equivalent of .exe in Windows, it looks like a file but it is in fact a special kind of closed folder called a package which contains the core app and all it's necessary resources in a single package file.

The Wacom driver has no problems detecting any other foreground apps - just Photoshop, and it never had any problems with detecting Photoshop in previous releases. I wondered if this might be something to do with versions and naming since in this case V23 is contained in an app package named Photoshop2022.

I have a work around and things are functioning fine but you never know when idiosyncrasies like this will trip you up.
