A suggestion about pen tips
A year or so ago I posted about testing all the different pen tips that come with the Wacom pen. I found the differences to be very subtle. For the most part too subtle for me to bother with them. However one outcome of this was that I started using the matt grey composition tip rather than the shiny black one. It has a very slightly softer touch and very slightly higher friction. It feels more 'natural' to me. Today, after a year of using this, I put back the shiny black hard tip to see how it felt. I was shocked at how hard, slippery and 'unsympathetic' it felt on the tablet surface. It a was total no brainer to immediately put back the grey composition tip. If you haven't tried this tip I really recommend you try. It's made of a grey composition material and feels slightly rough to the touch if you slide your fingers up and down it. (You need the solid grey tip, not the one with a little spring in the middle.) Over time the tip gets smooth and compressed but a very light application of very fine sandpaper will restore its texture. I never realised until today what a difference it made! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
