Photoshop 25.11 New selection brush.
Has anyone tried the new Selection Brush in the latest PS release?

It seems kinda, sorta, maybe, useful ........ ish.

I can see myself using it on occasions but, like its immediate predecessor, the Adjust Brush, it feels to me like a 'solution' looking for a problem.

Anyone else any thoughts? Are there clever uses you can envisage for this that I may be missing?

Just playing with it now David.
From what I've researched so far:
- Say you use any other selection tool to make a selection you can go back and select this brush and it will overlay a Fuchsia overlay over it which you can then use to paint any missed areas
- Use it in conjunction with Generative Fill to add in objects or whatever into your composite - ie : paint a small area where you want to add whatever (cat, dog, car) and then in Generative Fill Contextual type in what you want .
- You can paint an area and then apply a curves or whatever to that area to darken or highlight- just circle an area and it will auto fill
- To me a simplified Quick Mask
Not sure how much I'll use it

Yes you've listed the main ones I've tried, Frank.

I hadn't thought about your first suggestion. That makes sense. It's just fractionally easier than quick mask for that.

Like you, I see it as kind of quick mask brush. I can see ways it could be quite handy.

But, like its recent predecessor, the adjust brush, I don't see much advantage except, in some cases, it's maybe one step 'quicker' than the way we've done things for ages.

But the things we've done habitually for ages are those that come naturally and quickly anyway. I find myself quite simply doing what I have always done and forgetting that these new possibilities exist.

I suspect that may be a way of instinctively and subjectively expressing their real usefulness to me.
