Re: Tunnel Shape Interior
One thing I wondered: would the circular perspective actually make the vertical joins appear as arcs, as opposed to straight lines across the horizontal slats? |

Since the planks themselves aren't curved? |

Re: Tunnel Shape Interior
Much better Tom. No, the cuts would go straight across the planks as it is flat. It's a cross section cut (profile of the shape cut) seen in perspective. In this case you are lucky. The surface is flat. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Re: Tunnel Shape Interior
Tom this is great! The joins are correct for the flat planks and the tiny touch of bevel really helps. Great job! Now I am going to suggest a tiny piece of lily gilding. There's no right or wrong here, it's purely a matter of subjective taste. At the end of the tunnel there is a little bit of warm light spill into the tunnel on the ground. I thought it would be interesting to see what might happen if one extended that idea to the wooden cylinder itself. It's easy to try with masked adjustment layers. This is done in a bit of a rush and could be better but it shows the general idea. ![]() _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Thanks, guys, and sorry for my delay in replying. Somehow I kept missing that "Subscribe to topic" checkbox with each posting, and am just checking it now (I hadn't been in for a while since it seemed the comments had stopped). Once again, you've been very helpful, and I may well take you up on your suggestion soon, David. More light applied sparingly could not only make for more interesting overall variation, but also serve to illuminate some of the detail that's hard to see in the darkness. |
