Re: Daz Studio - worth it or not
Ooh, the pleasures of a decent back scratch. That out of the place itch that only a ruler or similar can reach. Genesis 9 is really a very nice model. Damn and that PC upgrade is well out of my reach. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

These renders are extraordinary. Really knocked out by the quality of the lighting and texture. |

Re: Daz Studio - worth it or not
Thank you Steve and Frank. That's where it all started many years ago. I downloaded Daz Studio to light various simple 3D objects and forms to help me with light and shadows in my 2D art. The human form was nothing to write home about but used creatively, they did earn value. Over the years, the rand dollar difference has forced me to tinker deeper into the models structure until I was able to create a rather life like representation of a life form. I think Daz has eventually done that for the artist. This last render has absolutely no post manipulation. It's an untouched render. I did add my own fore arm hairs to her and my own detail maps but it's not really necessary. The model has lovely texture maps. For those who have the power, you can us 8K maps aswell. I think we're going to see some very realistic renders with this version. Well done Daz p.a's. Oh, and it's helped me immensely with my 2D. I have learnt to let 2D compliment 3D and visa versa...and have come to really enjoy 3D...all through the desire to learn Photoshop. So a great big thanks to Adobe for setting me on such an awesome, evenful, creative journey. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

These are truly full on professional standard. Just astonishing! Without knowing I would never guess these were 3D. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Thanks David but the credit should go to the Daz artists. They're leaving me very little to do apart from enhancing skin details, blemishes and adding vellus hair. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Re: Daz Studio - worth it or not
I was so wanting to join this week's challenge. I would have liked a stab at modelling the handcart, but I ended up with an extremely challenging week and hid in Daz Studio instead. 4 days of focus just to keep me sane but thank the Lord, I see light at the end of the tunnel. I played around with the G9 figure. It requires power. This render took over 20 minutes just to open. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Re: Daz Studio - worth it or not
Thank you Steve. I tried to model challenge 966 hand wagon tonight after work. It's 01h30 in the morning and I'm not even halfway. I tried...lol and our friendly government is going to shut our power of in 30 minutes so I better get into bed. I'll just have another unfinished model with promise. It was coming out very nicely. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Re: Daz Studio - worth it or not
Over the winter break, Renderhub has a 3D challenge. I only found out a week before closing date so had to cram a render together quickly. This got the Daz juices running again and I pulled out an old project to attempt once again. This time I was more successful than the last time that I tried to set it up. I used Photoshop and various maps to create the war paints on her face. I also used PS to create detail and bump maps to enhance the material and increase the texture.. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Re: Daz Studio - worth it or not
Thank you frank. This image sparked me off on doing a Egyptian palace scene. I always planned to do something that portrayed the late BC's in Egypt. I have collected enough content over the years. I started 1 last week and have poured hours into it only to find that the scene has become too heavy and does not render. It just crashes my system. There goes my image...until I upgrade my pc...when I go on pension...at the end of Feb...Yahoo! _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

I wish I could Frank. My external has just packed up. 3 TBs of art and 3d collection over 30 plus years. I normally back up but hadn't gotten around to it. That is a massive step back. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Re: Daz Studio - worth it or not
The Jade Emperor, adorned with the full moon of the Lunar New Year as his Longpao, visited me in a dream last night and instructed me: “Shai Lung Wu Xing, Son of Heaven, 2 horned 5 claw Emperor of the chosen dynasty, divine protector of all clans west of the Eastern Seas. I have a quest for you. Gather up your newborn grandson and travel west to the dividing rivers. Cross the shifting plains and continue to the Kunlun Mountain. Stay in the southern valley of the mountain and continue west. Watch every sunset for, when you see the Phoenix cross the setting sun, you must bathe in the invigorating waters of the Pool of life, that flows before you. Rest on the banks of the stream, facing the mountain.” “There, the Pole star will reveal a mountain pass that will take you north into the bowels of Kunlun Mountain. You will know when you have found the Eastern path that will lead you to the summit. Follow it. On the morning after the Lunar Year’s first New Moon, you shall reach the summit. At the summit, cleanse yourself and your grandson in the invigorating waters of the Pool of life, before wading through it, to the Dragon Gate. Step through the Dragon gate and wait on the inner threshold. When the first morning sun after the New Moon of The Lunar Year illuminates the inner Dragon Gate threshold, The Wood Dragon will present its majestic self, and bathe you and your grandson in an aurore of cleansing light and bless the New Son of Heaven.” “Shai Lung Wu Xing, heed these instructions, for the good of your people. Fair speed!” _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |
