Newspaper Photos
I have been asked (or will be soon) to recreate a photo in the way it appears in a newspaper. You know made up of little dots etc. I did have a tutorial on this but in a blonde moment I've lost it So I appeal to you chaps and chapettes for help. Any ideas ? Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Newspaper Photos
In Photoshop there is a filter for halftone as it would be printed in a newspaper.

Filter>Pixelate>Color Halftone...

Work on an image say at 300dpi and at least 2000 pixels height so the effect isn't too exaggerated, if your image is far smaller than this let's say 72dpi use Image Size to increase the size apply the filter at a setting of about 4-8 pixels (depending on what looks best) and reduce the image back to it's original size, then if you want it to appear as a Black & White image then Ctrl+Shift+U to Desaturate and perhaps some Brightness & Contrast to tweak it.

Absolutely correct, as always, Becky. You can set the angles of each of the halftone screens - the defaults settings match conventional four colour printing. But if you want a black and white effect, change the angles all to 45°.
