Test Strip
Hi All, I am playing about trying to print some pics and I want to get the colours right I want to make some test strips(to save time and mony) I am using an Epson Photo 830U. I can get the printer screen where it offers to print a selection. This is exactly what I want - but this option is "Greyed Out" So far I havn't been able to get it to work. Any idea's ? |

Re: Test Strip
i don't know about anyone else here but I'd need more information before I could offer proper help. The printer you are using won't make any difference to the method. Are you using Photoshop? By test strip, do you mean you just want to print out a thing strip of the photo or are you trying to create a proper calibration test strip with colours and greyscale? If it's the former, why not just crop the image rather than trying to print a section. |

Re: Test Strip
Hi, Many thanks. I'm using photoshop. Yes I am trying to print a thin strip. The method of printing a selection for this (found in a book), seemed to be the quickest way, but yes to crop the rest is an alternative. I'll give it a try. Thanks again |

Re: Test Strip
Where did you find this "print selection" menu option? I've never seen one in Photoshop! |

Perhaps, Oncemore, means within the Epson's Printer Properties? _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |

Re: Test Strip
Surely that's a text thing? Don't think you can print selections like that in Photoshop. |

Re: Test Strip
Me again, I.v been reading Photoshop help files on printing. It seems that some printers don,t support some options- and if this is the case the option will be "Greyed out" This seems to explain matters !! Sorry to have wasted your time. Many thanks. Gordon |

Re: Test Strip
Surely that option means a selection of pages to be printed i.e. 1,5,6 etc. rather than a selection of the page being printed? _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |

No, it prints the selected area. I tested it. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |
