Memory cards
This morning I purchased a new 512 MB 100x 'High Speed' CompactFlash card for my Canon 300D. It cost about 80% more than an ordinary card. I thought I would get a faster throughput in rapid burst shooting. But... comparing the two cards I find it takes the same time to fire 10 shots (17 secs) and the same time to process all the info (40 secs - light stops blinking). So.. What have I got for my money? Re: Memory cards
The actual burst of shots is nothing to do with the memory card. They are initially stored in the camera's buffer memory. I have a Sandisk 66x Ultra card and there is a noticeable difference - especially when I use it in the Nikon. The difference may very well prove itself when it comes to downloading the images to the computer. The ">Eggbox is due to an unknown bug in the forum software _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |
